Whimsical Wonderland - June 2023 Theme
All things Alice in Wonderland
I have taken the classic Alice in Wonderland and designed each element with a unique twist.
I didn't fall down the rabbit hole, I was born in Wonderland. I live in a world where anything is possible, and where good triumphs over evil. It's not an easy world to live in; sometimes it's even a lonely world. I would rather live in a world full of bright colours and with possibilities than in one of darkness with no hope of change. A fun collection of some of my favorite quotes from the book; I wish I had space to post them all. I hope you find them useful when using my designs on your projects.
-
“I am not crazy; my reality is just different from yours.”
-
“When we were little,” the Mock Turtle went on at last, more calmly, though still sobbing a little now and then,” we went to school in the sea. The master was an old Turtle—we used to call him Tortoise—” “Why did you call him Tortoise, if he wasn’t one?” asked Alice. “We called him Tortoise because he taught us,” said the Mock Turtle angrily. “Really you are very dull!”
-
“Every adventure requires a first step.”
-
“Not all who wander are lost.”
-
“Well, some go this way, and some go that way. But as for me, myself, personally, I prefer the short-cut.”
-
“If you’re gonna make it to the top, get a grip on this rock, and get a grip on yourself.”
-
long enough.”
-
"A very merry unbirthday to you!"
-
"Careful, she's stark raving mad."
-
“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
-
“‘Who in the world am I?’ Ah, that's the great puzzle!”
-
Then you should say what you mean,’ the March Hare went on. ‘I do,’ Alice hastily replied; ‘at least—at least I mean what I say—that's the same thing, you know.’ ‘Not the same thing a bit!’ said the Hatter. ‘Why, you might just as well say that ‘I see what I eat’ is the same thing as ‘I eat what I see’!’”
-
And what is the use of a book,” thought Alice, “without pictures or conversations?”
-
“But it’s no use now,” thought poor Alice, “to pretend to be two people! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!”
-
“Curiouser and curiouser!”
-
“When I used to read fairy tales, I fancied that kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one!”
-
“That’s the reason they’re called lessons,” the Gryphon remarked: “because they lessen from day to day.”
-
The Queen turned crimson with fury, and, after glaring at her for a moment like a wild beast, began screaming “Off with her head! Off with—”
-
“I don’t like the look of it at all,” said the King: “however, it may kiss my hand, if it likes.”
-
“Begin at the beginning,” the King said, very gravely, “and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”
-
`If you knew Time as well as I do,′ said the Hatter, `you wouldn’t talk about wasting it. It’s him.′
-
"It would be so nice if something made sense for a change."
-
"Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
-
“I’m stranger. You’re stranger. Together, we are… strangers.”
-
“When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea, when the clock strikes heavy and there’s no time for tea; and in our darkest hour, before my final rhyme, she will come back home to Wonderland and turn back the hands of time.”
-
“Never let anyone drive you crazy; it is nearby anyway and the walk is good for you.”
-
“It’s always tea time.”
-
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense."
-
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don’t much care where—” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat. “—so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation. “Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk
-
“The best way to explain it is to do it.”
-
“You know you say things are ‘much of a muchness’—did you ever see such a thing as a drawing of a muchness?”
-
"Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible."
-
"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
-
"It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"
- “Visit either you like: they’re both mad.”
- "But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."
- “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
- “How queer everything is to-day! And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night? Let me think: *was* I the same when I got up this morning?”
- “Imagination is the only weapon in the war with reality.”
- “Only a few find the way, some don’t recognize it when they do – some… don’t ever want to.”
- “Well! I’ve often seen a cat without a grin,” thought Alice; “but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in all my life!”
- “I don’t see how he can ever finish, if he doesn’t begin."
- “Well! I’ve often seen a cat without a grin,” thought Alice; “but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in all my life!”
- “I don’t see how he can ever finish, if he doesn’t begin.”
- “And the moral of that is—‘Be what you would seem to be’—or, if you’d like it put more simply—‘Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.’”
- “I can’t explain myself, I’m afraid, Sir,” said Alice, “because I am not myself, you see.”
- ’Oh, ‘tis love, ‘tis love, that makes the world go round!’”
- "I have an excellent idea! Let's change the subject."
- "You can always take more than nothing.''
